Don Sawyer
"I watch the expressionless faces of people strolling toward Don’s gallery. As their eyes survey his work, I see, even from a distance, a twinkle in them…followed by a smile, then pointing and laughter. “What’s your best seller, Don,” I ask. “Be nice or leave,” he replies, nodding at the fish with sunglasses and toothy grin. He prefers to paint on wood. “Particle board gives the painting texture. It lasts forever. People like it more than they like canvas,” he says. He should know. He has sold over six thousand original paintings and thousands of prints. Don has recently opened an additional gallery and art school at 707 Harbor Boulevard (Highway 98) in Destin, Florida. Students come from far and wide to learn his unique style." (From a story about Don Sawyer)
